Stroke is a medical emergency. If one side of the face or body suddenly goes weak, or speech slurs, go straight to a hospital with a CT scanner. Do not wait until morning. Most strokes are treated with medicines, not surgery. Surgery is used mainly to remove a clot or relieve dangerous brain swelling.

Many patients regain useful movement with treatment and physiotherapy. Some are left with lasting weakness. No honest doctor can promise an outcome before examining the patient and seeing the CT scan.
It is a common habit and no one should be blamed for it. But a weak arm, a drooping face or slurred speech is coming from the brain, not the muscle. Massage and hakeem treatment do nothing for a blocked or bleeding vessel, and clot-dissolving medicine only works within a few hours. Go to a hospital first, every time.

Surgery is considered in a smaller number of cases, for example when a bleed or severe brain swelling is pressing on healthy brain, or when a large clot can be removed. The CT scan decides this. Cost depends on whether it is a bleed or a blockage, how many days of ICU are needed, and whether surgery is done. Emergency scans, ICU stay and rehabilitation each add to the bill, so a single figure quoted on the phone is rarely accurate. Ask the hospital for a written quote in PKR as soon as the patient is stable.
Go to the nearest hospital that has a CT scanner and a working emergency room, even if it is in your own town. Hours matter more than the name of the hospital. Once the patient is stable, the scans and reports can be sent on WhatsApp for an opinion, and transfer can be arranged if surgery or ICU care is needed.
