Cost depends on the operation, ICU time, implants and how many days you stay admitted. It varies widely between hospitals, so a figure from someone else's case will mislead you. Ask the hospital for a written quote in PKR before you agree, and ask what is not included, such as repeat scans, medicines and follow-up visits.
Most headaches are not a brain tumour. Tension, migraine, eyesight problems and high blood pressure are far more common. The warning signs are headache that wakes you at night, that gets worse over weeks, or that comes with vomiting, fits, weakness or blurred vision. For those, dam or massage only delays the scan you need.
Many patients go home within about a week, but energy and concentration take longer to return, often weeks. Bring one family member who can stay with the patient and one who can handle admission papers.
